Welcome to Exminster Community Primary School

Thank you for your interest in our school. The children, staff, parents and governors have created our Rainbow Values at Exminster Community Primary School.

The EPICentre of Learning.

Enjoyment

We want every child to enjoy coming to school, to feel secure in their friendships and to be happy to learn.

Potential

We aim to help every child reach and exceed their full potential through providing a rich and varied range of learning opportunities within a broad and balanced curriculum. Learning is planned in every class to meet all needs. We aim to find children’s strengths and use these within school to develop children’s confidence and love of learning. ‘Be the best that we can be’.

Inclusion

We pride ourselves in being a highly inclusive school. Inclusion is about adapting for the needs of our learners – however minor or major their needs may be. This has benefits for all learners, learning to celebrate our differences and individuality.

Community

Exminster Community Primary School plays an integral part in life of our village. We maintain a strong family village school ethos. We feel it is essential that children develop an understanding of our school family, our local family, our national family and our international family. Diversity and respect are a golden thread within all that we do.

Footy

On the 7th of February 2014, 8 eager footballers travelled to Isca College to participate in an annual football tournament held in honour of Matt Hammond , a former P.E teacher at Isca who unfortunately past away at a young age.

After a comfortable group stage, knocking off some easy opponents, Exminster excelled into the major finals.

During the semi finals, Exminster faced a challenging opposition, Exeter School. After some slick Barcelona style football, we raced into a comfortable 2-0 lead. As a result off Exeter’s continuous hard work, the score-line had now moved into a 2-2 draw. Fortunately, after a close match, Jack V settled the tie with a beautiful top-corner strike.

The final separated Exminster from first and second place. Unfortunately for Exminster, a harsh penalty shoot-out saw them exit the competition, proudly, as runners-up. A cruel way to lose, however, Topsham played extremely well. Despite the narrow loss, Exminster should be very proud of themselves for the effort they put in.

Jack V, Exminster’s centre midfielder, quoted “Overall, we were a very good side and were very unlucky to lose on penalties, as we didn’t deserve to.”
